Melissa Sibley

Designer
Melissa Sibley

Melissa Sibley was trained as a graphic designer, so it’s no surprise that’s she is obsessed with color. Her hair, at one time or another, has been almost every shade in the Pantone swatch book. Born and raised in Florida in the delightfully named town of Zephyrhills, Melissa completed her cosmetology training while she was still in high school and attended the Tampa Tech Institute for Commercial Art before moving to Seattle in 2000.

Since her passion is design, she loves to create a custom color, cut and style look for each of her clients because it gives her the opportunity to put her art training to use. She understands that not everyone is ready for a completely new look right away, so she is a patient-practitioner of the art of gentle persuasion. And her clients eventually come around. In fact, the phrase she hears most often is: “I should have listened to you in the first place.” When she’s not working, Melissa loves gardening, crafts, sewing, and, of course, making art. Her style icons are Audrey Hepburn and Cyndi Lauper, her favorite fictional character is Holly Golightly, her hero is her best friend Cera Klomp, and the love of her life is the wonderful William Coe. Her motto is, “A little bit of vanity is good.” And her favorite hair color is purple. At least for the moment.
